Of course, the chance I'll ever get to actually ask him these things is about slim to none, but at least I know his position on wine, which is, 'Wine? Yes. Please. And keep it coming." 1) What is on your iPod at the moment? (or, as it were, your CD player, your cassette deck, or your 8-track player.... ) 2) Favorite music genre, groups, singers, both currently and of all time. 3) Favorite foods----we already know your favorite drink. Ha! 4) Describe your style in 5 words or less. 5) Sports? Or, are you not into that kind of thing. 6) Favorite movie(s) of all time--Top 5 only. 7) Do you dance, and, if so, are you more 'white man's overbite' or Salsa sensation? 8) Most admired people-----and don't say 'Jesus Christ'. EVERYONE says that. #boring 9) How and where did you learn to speak French so fluently, you cheeky bugger? I'm well, well impressed. 10) On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being 'not at all' and 10 being 'an inferno of Hell', how irritated are you with this forum? [PS: You don't have to answer right now.]

Sorry, I have no answers... but an other few questions I`d be interested if Mr.Wilby sang the songs about the "wild maiden" in "Somerstory" both himself? I am certain he did the first one while cycling to the shearing, but the one accompanied by his future wife at the piano? In any case: He has a lovely voice, not only to listen to on audio-books, but as a singer too! That reminds me: Did they make an audio-CD of Maurice read by him in the meantime? So far I have only seen cassettes for sale...what a pity! And by the way: Thank you for this site! There won`t be many to discuss his films etc. here, I am afraid, as the interest in his film career and himself as an actor are very specific and he certainly has more male fans, who are celebrating him on tumblr or youtube, than female. I hope you are not too sad about that; thank you again! And pardon my English! eve

Hello, dear! We are moving house; I'm so sorry I've been late on this reply! I would almost bet my life on it that it is him singing. It sounds so unmistakably like his speaking voice, I thought the same thing when I saw it! Yep, he's pretty multitalented. Bless your heart, I'm just glad I've someone else to talk to about him other than myself, ha ha! I've loved him since I was 15 (!!). And yeah, what is up with all the dudes in the Maurice fan base?! And, more importantly, why are they not here on this site chatting with US? :-D And the audio CD situation sucks! I've just done another search and come up fruitless.

Good day to you!Thank you.
Funny enough I wouldn`t bet my life on it, the first song is unmistakably him, but the second sounds like a professional singer similar to his voice, or because it`s made up in a studio it sounds so completely different to me..in any case, he has a lovely voice! Which reminds me that I would like to defend "A Summer Story" on the film thread, but I am just short of time and might be back to it some day later.

Still haven`t been back to "Summer story", but an other question I have on mind for a while: I wonder why he lost so much weight around 1989/1990 - it`s such a difference to watch the films before (Maurice/Handful of Dust/Summer Story) and the films shortly afterwards, especially in "Immaculate conception" he started to look frightfully thin. But again, maybe it`s only me who got that impression... eve
